Dr. Karena Skelton is the clinic owner and a fear free certified veterinarian. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001, and has been practicing in the Cowichan Valley since 2003.
In addition to clinic duties, Dr. Skelton has volunteered with the Canadian Animal Assistance Team, the Island Wildlife Natural Care Centre on Saltspring Island, and has participated as a judge in BC Canadian Trail Riding Association competitions.
Special interests include palliative care, animal behaviour, and maximizing the quality of life for her patients.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, and exploring our beautiful island. She lives in Cobble Hill with her husband and 2 sons. Pets in the family are Eclectus Parrots Ava and Hudson, cats Popeye and Pekoe, and Sherpa the dog.
